Rekate, Director, The Chiari Institute and Hypothlamic Hamartoma Center, is appointed to the Visual Impairment Intracranial Pressure advisory board (VIIP) of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to study the causes of of visual impairment in astronauts after prolonged space flight.
Dr. Michael Schulder is elected to membership in the Society of Neurological Surgeons the oldest neurosurgical society in the world, where he joins two other members of the Cushing Neuroscience Institute faculty, Dr. Richard Winn and Dr. Raj Narayan. This organization is restricted to certain academic neurosurgeons as determined by the membership.
Dr. David Eidelberg is awarded an R01 grant from the National Institutes of Health to study the structure-function relationships of brain networks in dystonia.
Dr. Harold L. Rekate, Director, The Chiari Institute and Hypothalamic Hamartoma Center, is designated as Founder, International Hydrocephalus Imaging Working Group (IHIWG). The IHIWG is a group of internationally recognized neuroscientists, neuroradiologists, engineers and physicists working to apply new magnetic resonance technology to the study of hydrocephalus.
