Department of Neurosurgery Current Residents

The North Shore-LIJ neurosurgical residency program functions under the direction of Dr. Michael Schulder, vice chair of neurosurgery at North Shore University Hospital. The program is located at three hospitals and boasts a large full-time faculty representing a wide range of interests and backgrounds. Residents experience a diverse caseload and enjoy an intense and rewarding educational experience, which includes continued advancement in training both from the clinical and research perspectives.

The program is located in Nassau County, NY, less than 40 minutes from the heart of Manhattan and less than a half-hour from LaGuardia and Kennedy airports. We are close to Long Island's beaches, considered to be some of the most beautiful in the country. In addition, we are located near world-class shopping, luxury and family-friendly hotels and restaurants. Long Island offers year-round activities such as swimming, hiking, horseback riding, biking, shopping and a variety of cultural programs.
