He completed his residency in neurosurgery and received his PhD in experimental surgery at the University of Alberta in Canada.  He completed a fellowship in skull base surgery at the University of Cincinnati’s Mayfield Clinic.

The author of numerous papers, abstracts and book chapters, Dr. Kerr has lectured in the United States, Canada and Europe on various topics, including brain tumor and skull base surgical research, neurosurgical trauma, pediatric head trauma, immunotherapy for brain tumors and minimally invasive treatment for trigeminal neuralgia.  Dr. Kerr will continue to be involved with innovative brain tumor research in collaboration with North Shore-LIJ’s Feinstein Institute for Medical Research.
