North Shore-LIJ’s Cushing Neuroscience Institute Physicians Named as Recipients of the 2012 Patients’ Choice Awards
Every month, more than 200,000 patients across the United States access websites such as Vitals (www.vitals.com), to share feedback about their experiences with their doctors. Patients rate various components of patient care they receive such as the accuracy of their diagnosis, the amount of time they spent with the doctor, the doctor’s bedside manner and follow-up care. Patients’ Choice ranks the top reviewed physicians and looks at other quality measures to compile its yearly list.
The neurosurgeons and neurologists from North Shore-LIJ’s Cushing Neuroscience Institute who were named as recipients of the 2012 Patients’ Choice Awards include:
● David J. Chalif, MD, FACS (neurosurgeon), chief of vascular neurosurgery and co-director of the Brain Aneurysm Center at North Shore University Hospital; assistant professor of neurosurgery at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine
● David J. Langer, MD (neurosurgeon), director of cerebrovascular research at North Shore University Hospital and director of the Moyamoya Center of New York; associate professor of neurosurgery at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine
● Avi Setton, MD (interventional neuroradiologist), chief of interventional neuroradiology and co-director of the Brain Aneurysm Center at North Shore University Hospital; assistant professor of neurosurgery at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine
