General Neurology

Neurology is a medical specialty devoted to the disorders of the nervous system. More specifically, it deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all diseases involving the central, peripheral and autonomic nervous systems. Neurology is the medical application of neuroscience, which is the scientific study of the nervous system.

The General Neurology program at North Shore-LIJ’s Cushing Neuroscience Institute is a multidisciplinary program focused on developing state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic solutions for neurological disorders which involve the brain, spine, nerves and muscles. Our experienced neurologists diagnose and treat patients suffering from pain, weakness, visual disturbances or other symptoms which result from a neurological disorder. We provide compassionate care and support to patients suffering from the full spectrum of neurological disorders.
